Neha Bhatnagar hailing


Major Neha Bhatnagar hailing from Jaipur scaled the the Mount Everest on 26 May Saturday morning. She conquered the peak at 5.40 am.

This is the second expedition of women officers of the Army for Mount Everest and the team has experienced the glory of Everest successfully. The expedition started on March 22 and reached the base camp on April 15. The team climbed the total height of 29,029 feet of the world's highest peak.

Neha has been a student of Maharani College, Jaipur. She was very clear about her goals in life from her childhood days. She had chosen physics, chemistry and math as her subjects was only aiming at a career in the Army. Neha was so focused in her aim that she never appeared for any pre- engineering tests. After getting admission in her college, she joined NCC to achieve her dreams.

She was commissioned in the engineers' corps of the Army at age of 21 years only.

Neha's father Yogeh Chandra Bhatnagar, a retired RAS officer, was a happy man. "She has not only earned glory for our family but also for the entire country. I am proud to be her father," he said, adding, "I was worried for her health but now I am happy to know that she is perfectly fine. This doubles my happiness."
